The Tack Room, a single-storey apartment, was once part of the original coach house for the nearby Place House, a Grade I listed building and home of the Treffry family since the 13th century. In the grounds of the owner’s home, it has been converted to provide cosy and comfortable accommodation in a historic building in the beautiful seafaring town of Fowey.
Fowey has much to offer, from riverside cafes, galleries that showcase local artists and artisans, to tea rooms and local shops for that special memento of your stay in the town.
Fowey is home to a royal yacht club and boasts an annual royal regatta, a week-long festival on and off the water, as well as an annual cultural festival. There are many cultural links to the town from the author Daphne Du Maurier to the Kenneth Grahams Wind in the Willows loosely based on the river and using local landmarks in the plot.
